Short & concise
- The event: Instead of classic Christmas market hustle and bustle, the marketed UX team decided on a decelerating alpaca hike on 19.12.2025.
- The location: The goal was the farm”Alpacas am Flöthbach“, where we were able to dive into nature far away from city noise and deadlines.
- The experience: A guided tour with species-appropriate husbandry, during which we were able to feed and guide the animals and forget about everyday life.
- The effect: Real team building through shared experiences and relaxed conversations away from projects and office hustle and bustle.
- Our conclusion: An absolute recommendation for company parties, families or friends who are looking for real “quality time” — 5 out of 5 stars!
Out of the office, into nature
There are appointments that are on the calendar and there are experiences that are remembered.
On Friday, 19.12.2025, we closed the laptop that Office at Düsseldorf Media Harbour We left behind and decided on a very special Christmas party.
Instead of mulled wine at the overcrowded Christmas market, it was time for the marketer UX team: Get out into nature for an alpaca hike at the”Alpacas am Flöthbach”.
If you are currently looking for ideas for the next company event or are wondering how to actively live corporate culture, this article will take you on our little journey.
Get out of everyday life, into adventure

The planning for this year was based on slowing down.
Not a stressful menu in a cramped restaurant, but fresh air and exercise.
The organization was extremely easy and the contact with the operators was cordial.
As soon as we arrived, each of us felt that this would not be an ordinary Friday.
The atmosphere in Willich is immediately noticeably different.
Far away from city noise and hectic questions about the next deadline, we were greeted by a variety of curious pairs of eyes.
Animals have the wonderful gift of instantly making you forget everyday life.
The magic of deceleration

After a short introduction and a guide to handling the animals by the guides (who acted almost like a moderator between humans and animals), it was time to start.
During the hike, participants also learn a lot about the appropriate keeping and care of alpacas.
Two people per alpaca were allowed to take turns leading the animal.
We were given an alpaca — or rather: The alpaca took us by the hand.
Because anyone who has ever gone on an alpaca hike knows that these animals set the pace.
Our hike took us along green trails and through quiet village roads, with the trail itself being an important part of the experience.
You might see our smile on the photos — it's not set.
It is this special magic that is created when you engage with the rhythm of another living being.
A problem that still seemed huge in the office?
Out here, while you look deep into the dark eyes of a fluffy alpaca, it suddenly becomes very small.
The number of participants is limited so that all participants are actively involved in the experience and can enjoy the hike together.
Strengthen team spirit without skydiving

Often, with teambuilding Designed for extreme adventures.
But we have found that true team spirit grows in quiet moments.
Such experiences not only strengthen the team, but also the entire company and promote a positive corporate culture.
While we were wandering there, there were many opportunities for a conversation away from project status and expenses.
You laugh together when an alpaca decides that now is the right time to take a break in the grass and help each other out.
The highlight was definitely feeding.
A small note for anyone who has never done this before: Alpacas have good taste and know exactly where the treats are hidden!
An event that you can't add to the shopping cart

In a world where we click everything into the cart Being able to lay down and track shipments, such an analog experience is priceless.
Of course, there is a price for the booking and VAT is on the invoice, but we can barely quantify the value of working together.
It was an event full of fun, enjoyment (the emotional kind) and valuable time with colleagues.
For us, it was the perfect opportunity to end the year together.
Our tip for other companies
If you're still looking for information for your event planning: A show on stage is nice, but interacting with living beings is a real cinema for the soul.
Whether with employees, friends or family — a hike is suitable for almost all ages (even children love it!).
Maybe that's also an idea for your next voucher or company outing?
In any case, the reviews from our team are unanimous: 5 out of 5 stars.
We wish you happy holidays and a good start to the new year!
