Google Ads Transparency Center
What is the Google Ads Transparency Center?
The Google Ads Transparency Center is a free database from Google.
It was announced and launched in March 2023 to provide more transparency in advertising.
With this tool, users can see:
- Who ran an ad
- Where the company is located
- Which ads this company has published on Google
This applies to ads on Google Search, YouTube, and the Display Network.
Other platforms offer similar tools as well. For example, Meta has an Ad Library for Facebook and Instagram ads.

We have reported on Tesla's marketing strategy, and this is how you can view the company's current ads in the Transparency Center.

Why does this tool exist?
Google wants users to better understand the ads they see. Every day, millions of people use Google tools to adjust their ad settings.
In recent years, Google has therefore invested heavily to:
- verify advertisers
- disclose more information
- give users more control over ads
Since 2020, advertisers worldwide have been required to verify certain information, such as:
- company details
- location
- advertised products or services
